Remove and Apply Thermal Paste?

Hello,

I have recently built my computer, but becasue of the motherboard's defect, I had to take the CPU and Stock CPU cooler out to retour it. I just simply put the CPU back into the original intel cpu box with that plastic cover, and the stock cooler also.

But i hadn't removed the thermal paste on the CPU and at the bottom of the Stock cooler, would there be anything wrong actually? And now i have received my botherboard again, do i have to remove the "old" thermal paste and apply a new one?

Yes; otherwise there will be air bubbles and that could cause overheating issues. You need to clean the old paste and apply new paste whenever you remove the cooler.
