Remove dried hot glue from soldering iron

I was experimenting with hot glue, and decided to use my soldering iron as a heat source (please don’t be mad I’m sorry) and there is on thinnesh layer of hot glue on the iron. I tried scraping it off with a knife which worked in some places but not others. No direct access to sandpaper.

Rubbing alcohol is said to be an adequate solvent for hot glue.

Does your soldering iron have a removable tip?
If you can't get ALL of the glue off, toss it and replace the tip.

I would put it in a freezer for a while then take it out and see if it will peel off afterwards.
you could use a un-coated brass pot scratch-er or brass wool for soldering stations and scrape it off with a hot iron, then re-tin with solder and repeat.
