Question Remove ground cable

Hello everyone, i ve found an old lenovo thinkpad x201 but i can t find his power supply. I ve a lot of other brands laptop power supplies. The x201 dc connector has 5 little cables running to the mainboard: 2 reds, 1 blue and a 2 blacks that i assume are ground cable. 1 of the black ones is plugged with a screws to the chassis. My question is: if i use iron soldering to put togheter the red ones can i use a power supplies that only got 2 cables (without the ground)? Or i m going to brick the mainboard?

Not all laptop's power inputs are the same and neither is their wiring. You should invest in a cheap replacement power brick for the laptop in question and not tinker with the power input. As it stands, you clearly don't know what you're doing, no offence.

Save the hardware(laptop's innards) and get that power brick pronto.
