I'm trying to remove the full stand / foot of my monitor (LG W2343T-PF). In order to do so I have to remove the cover surround the actual screen. I've found some information on how to do that, but it just won't happen for me.

The best tip / advice I've found so far is from this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/55861-29-mounting-monitor.

I've done as suggested in that topic / the pictures posted. I have removed the 2 screws at the back and I started at the top of the screen. I managed to peel the top / side parts of the cover loose, but it's just stuck around the corners. I've tried just pulling harder which has caused 2 plastic strips, 1 from each top corner, to break off. I've also pulled hard enough for my fingers to still hurt 24 hours after I tried it.

I've spend about an hour trying different ways of pulling at the cover and forcing the corner parts to come loose but it just didn't happen. I've tried putting screwdrivers between the front and back cover and slide them towards the corners to open them but that didn't work.

I really could use some advice with this, maybe something else I can try
