Remove the write-protection on DVD ROM.

I have installed the Roxio VHS to DVD software and I cannot burn directly to a DVD because I am getting a message that states that my burn destination has read-only attributes. I would like to remove the write-protection on both of my DVD Rom's so I can beging to back-up my 8mm tapes. Please help.

DVD ROMs don't have write capability, you need a DVD burner.

DVD-ROM is short hand for Digital Video(in later years, Versatile) Disc-Read Only Memory. If you intend to record data or video to a DVD, you need either DVD+/-R(Recordable) or DVD+/-RW(Re-Writable) drive and media.
