Remove XP

HI I am very lost on what to do . I got a laptop from ebay it has some
version of xp on it and its asking for a new id to register it I cant get
past this screen.. I just want to remove xp and put 98 back on it any ideas
on what I can do

The normal way to "uninstall" any operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

Only if you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup
the old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, can
you then boot into Safe Mode and click Start > Control Panel
> Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions must be met for the
uninstall option to be available.

http://www.bootdisk.com gets you a Windows 98 boot diskette..

gets you information on how to use FDISK and FORMAT..

install Windows 98..
