Question Removed ram while pc on

I removed ram while my pc was running and my monitors went blank. I put the ram back in and turned on my pc and the fans, lights and motherboard lights turned on but my monitors are still black😭. I don’t think I fried the motherboard because it still turns on. What do I do 😢?

You very possibly 'fried' the RAM slot(s). Or the RAM stick(s).


Power OFF
take the RAM out and reseat it
Power UP.

Does it boot up?
No?

Then try each RAM stick individually, in each slot.
POWER OFF WHEN YOU SWITCH THEM AROUND.

Nevermind, seconds after writing this I held the reset button on the front of my pc and it fixed it. Thanks though!

In case it's not obvious at this point, don't do this. Ever.

When you remove or insert parts always make sure that power is completely off. not only shut down.
