Question Removing a gpu with broken pcie latch

While trying to remove my 3080 (lifting, while compressing tab with a pen), I actually managed to snap/crush the latch off my PCIE slot, but the lock is still in place (with my gpu still in the slot). With no lever left to release the latch, is there a way to safely remove the GPU from the slot? In this case I don’t really care if the motherboard is damaged, I just want the GPU out to put in another rig.

Use an artists paintbrush handle, sand the tip flat like a screwdriver. Should slide right in, and push under what's left of the tab.

Remove the motherboard from the case. A wooden toothpick (like this one) should be enough to pull down what's left and release the GPU.

Check that out. When I worked in a school system on a lot of mac laptops, those come in very handy. They are relatively strong and are plastic so not conductive. Plus are good for getting a laptop open without marking up the case, so should be decent for getting a gpu out somewhat gently.
