[SOLVED] removing a NVMe

Currently the NVMe m.2 drive i have installed does not have a heat sink on it. I got one for it but I have to remove it from the motherboard to install it. Will I lose what is on the drive if I disconnect it from the motherboard? This is my first computer where I have had an NMVe so I am unsure if I can remove it without losing what is on it

No, don't worry. The data that is stored on the drive will stay on it when taking it out of the slot. Don't actually have the computer turned on while you take it out though...!

Yes you can remove it without losing any data, just make sure to computer is off and ideally unplugged.

I don't want to be nitpicky, but best is to turn off the power supply, but leave in the power cord. That way the computer is connected to ground but is disconnected from power.

By that he means the power switch on the PSU, not the one on the front of the case. Do this anytime you are going into the case please.
