I have a cheap CPU cooler with clips that I have no idea how to remove. I saw a similar post for what looked like a similar but slightly different CPU cooler suggesting to push down and pull out, but this doesn't work for me.

At the moment I seemed to be unable to post the image via the image link above. The URL for it is View: https://imgur.com/a/9oYqS8F
.

Would be grateful for any help.
Based on those pictures I would say push down, then push towards the center of the fan and clip should release. Then repeat with the other one.

Thanks for the reply. I actually found the solution, you need to push the clip down and then pull the lever on the clip up on just one of them and the whole thing comes off super easy. Now, to get the plastic mounting bracket or whatever it's called off!

This looks like an AMD factory mounting system. The plastic hardware is attached to the backplate on the backside of the motherboard. If you have an aftermarket cooler, you may have to remove your motherboard to get to the backplate. EVERY cooler is different. Read the instructions carefully.

@DRagor Thanks for your reply, yeah I tried rotating them, unsurprisingly it didn't work. I'm still browsing internet for solutions before I try yanking them out again, because it seems like a horrible way to do it.
