Removing cpu fan and re-installing again

This yellow color wire has been unplugged wrongly
we fixed it by welding my question is,should i change the therm for just removing the fan and re-installing it again??

Any time the CPU fan comes off you should clean the old, and reapply new paste.

The only possible reason not to is if it were never turned on, and only been applied in the last couple of days. Even then, I'd reapply.

if you took the heatsink off the cpu then you need to clean it, remove all old thermal paste from cpu and heatsink, then reapply new paste and reinstall the heatsink.

You do not need to reapply thermal paste if you just took the plastic fan off the heat sink. If you removed the heat sink from the processor then yes you should reapply thermal paste.

well normally most people will re apply it, but thats because they want the absolute best thermal performance. but if you just took off the heatsink you can put it back with out having to reapply the paste. it wont affect performance if are you just using the computer for normal operations.

personally what i like to do if im being lazy and dont want to reapply my thermal paste is use an old school id card to scoop the as much paste as i can into a ball in the center and put the heatsink back. its almost like putting new paste lol i do this when i use the white silicon based thermal grease.

but like burden said, if you just unplugged the fan connector and not the heatsink then you dont need to reapply the thermal paste. just replug the fan connector and everything should be fine.
