Removing Hard Drive

I want to remove a hard drive from a broken laptop. if I do this will it have to be installed on another computer or can I hook it up with a usb.

Physically, no problem. A 2.5" drive is (mostly) a 2.5" drive.

Are you hoping the existing OS and applications will work? Maybe, but probably not.
