For my setup, I have an astro a40 mix-amp and an astro a40 headset. The mix-amp comes with a power cable which hooks into my PC and an Auxiliary cable that splits into a the pink and green colors. The USB power cable that is hooked into my PC and the Auxiliary cord are hooked into my motherboard rather than the ports that came on my case. I have an xfinity router/modem (its a 2 in 1) that I plug my computer's Ethernet cable in directly into. When I recently built a PC into another room, I connected it to the internet by using an adapter that also hooks into my modem. When I hooked up the adapter to the modem, I immediately noticed a hissing sound into my headset. This only occurs when the other computer is powered on. The noise occurs every 1 or 2 seconds for a second. It is a very annoying sound and I would love to know if I can fix this issue.

edit: I use the 'speakers' in my playback devices. I have tried another one and it still has the same hissing sound.

Thanks!

The stylizing of your post indicates that you're house(or apartment at least) is having a grounding issue. You may want to call over a certified electrician and see if any of your grounding wires are twisted/crossed. You've made it clear that another system in your house powered on produces the hiss. You could try and add a ferrite choke at the end of the audio source but it won't mitigate the sound entirely, only dulls it to a small degree.

In any case, it'd be a good idea to parse both the culprit system's specs.
