Removing pci power plug from gpu?

When removing a PCI power connector from a graphics card is..it okay to "kind of pull it" with a slight bit of pressure to where it slightly moves the card as I pull it n wiggle that way I could take it out of the socket? I had the pc standing up vertically while doing this btw I turned on my PC after removing the old psu to install the new one. I'm just worried if my method today could do damage or out my gpu or PCi slot at risk. I berly got my new gpu also as well

I would not just pull it off from gpu there should be something underneath the connector that helps you pull it off!

I didn't just pull it off I held down the clip you hold while I was pulling it
