Removing Ramsinks?

What's the best way to pull off a set of ram sinks? My oc'd GF3 is going into my wife's rig and I want to use the sinks on something else, but they're glued on pretty tightly. I've read about freezing the whole card, but is that the best way, or is that idiotic? The only post that I found with a similar issue, the guy played UT3K for a while then pulled it off while the card was hot, but that was the GPU HSF, memory may not get that hot(or would it?). What do you guys think? Hot, cold, or other?

If you diluted the compound you used, you may want to try... but if it is 100% adhesive... well, it is only a GF3... if the ramsinks are low quality, buy new ones... if they are copper, it might be worth it... the freezer for an hour or two worked for me... many people post that using ramsinks at all just is not worth it... GW reported getting slower ram speeds after putting the ramsinks on... a quality heatsink on your gpu will do a much better job cooling the entire card, especially with a fan blowing across the card...

I have heard both ways... getting the card hot and getting the card cold and making the adhesive brittle...

Freezing the card for about 30min is the best and only way that worked for me.
