Hi, Wondering if anyone knows how to remove stuff when you right click recycle bin and what shows up on my pc is scan using spybot search and destroy , but the program is uninstalled and don't really fancy re-installing just to see if i can remove it in the options, is there another way to do this with registry or something?

Solution
Do not attempt any fixes via the registry. Doing so may not end well.

That said, I am not sure about the question being posted.

When you right click the recycle bin icon there should be menu choice for "Empty Recycle Bin".

However, some AV software does add a "scan option" to such drop down menus as a convenience. Other 3rd party utilities may likewise add menu choice as applicable to the app's purposes.

So, just to be sure: Spybot added a drop down menu choice that has remained after Spybot is/was supposedly uninstalled - correct?

Is the recycle bin the only folder where the Spybot scan option is still appearing?

When you uninstalled spybot did you use the uninstall process via Windows, Spybot, or did you just delete the spybot folder?

In any case, I recommend re-installing Spybot and then re-try the uninstall.

Also: moving post from Windows 7 category to AV category.

There may be additional comments and suggestions.

"

"Is the recycle bin the only folder where the Spybot scan option is still appearing?" no its also in windows explorer folders right clicking any folder.

I uninstalled spybot using revo uninstaller, it ran the uninstall process for spybot for me. or wait it might of been when I installed Kaspersky and it did it for me?

"Also: moving post from Windows 7 category to AV category. " Thanks and sorry.

Are you simultaneously running multiple AV/malware apps? With or without Windows Defender?

Overall, I will stand with reinstalling Spybot and then using the Spybot uninstaller to remove Spybot.

However, there may be other suggestions and ideas especially if someone else has encountered a similar problem.

No harm, I trust, in waiting a bit to see if any one else comments accordingly. I have no problem with that.

windows defender is installed i think, kaspersky is installed and thats pretty much it, I uninstalled spybot, and malwarebytes, i uninstalled Avast as well, yeah guess i had to re-install spybot and uninstall it again to remove it, maybe in the last attempt there was uninstall error.

Thanks for everything
