Removing the case of a USB Modem?

So I recently bought a Huawei E3372 4G USB modem, and installed an internal USB port for it to be internal. However, it's quite big, therefore I was thinking if it is save to remove the casing? I know it doesn't have any influence with regular flash drives. Does it differs when it is a modem?

Not really, just watch for an antenna or SIM card holder that may be built into it's case.
