I have a creative geforce 256 ddr that had a fan brakedown.
How do i remove the heat sink that is mounted direct on the GPU (with glue?).
Do i have to ? Or can i mount a fan on top of the old heatsink?

You have to pry it off. Use a knife and a scewdriver. Put the edge of the knife on the card under the srewdriver so it doesn't poke the circuits, then pry. POP! Then use a razor blade to scrape off teh residue. A self adhesive 486 fan will suffice as a replacement.

Suicide is painless...........

I just took out the old fan and screwed a regular fan on top with one screw in the corner. it hangs off on two sides and blows air across the memory chips.but it also blocks pci slot one which i dont use because it shares irg with agp.
