hi,

First what are your computer specs, whar memory is it (ddr, ddr2, ddr3)
What specs, voltage and speed are the the sticks.

put them in the same slot where the 512 mg where.
Your computer might freeze because they are not compatible or might be damage.
You may want to run memtest86

hi mate , thanks for your reply my mainboard is 4coredual-vsta , i cannot put the 2*1gb in where the 2*512 because they are differant 2*ddr and 2*ddr2 ? im not sure what speed are my 2 igb sticks , this is what it says on both 1gb sticks ... number 1 stick ..1r*4 pc2-5300p-555-12-hd and the other 1gb stick ...2r*8pc2-5300u-555-12-e3 many thanks for your help ?

Alright, I've looked over the user manual and it should be compatible.

I would try to boot up with only one stick of ram at the time to see if it boots,

If one of them doesn't boot, the stick must have a problem. If the problem persist, it might be that the samsung ram is not compatible with the motherboard.

You might want to go in BIOS and do a clear cmos.

Is the ram used or new ?
Also check slot for dust.

thanks for your help mate , i have put them in one at time still same problem , i will try clear cmos , also when it freezes it says single channel mode , even though ive changed the bios to dual channel mode , these sticks are supposed to be tested working from cex shop .?
