On my C drive, I have the regular "windows" folder, as well as two extra ones named: Windows.old and Windows.old.000. I'm aware that extra copies of the window folder are created whenever a copy of windows is installed on top of an existing one. I, however, haven't done so, yet.
I don't want those extra copies there, hence, I have been trying to delete them. The kind of permission needed varies on the folder that I'm trying to delete. For example, to delete files within the Windows folder that is located in the windows.old folder I need permission from "system". Today, I'm being told that I need permission from "Trusted Installer" to get rid of files within the "programs files" folder that is inside the windows.old folder.
I don't know if that makes any sense. The Windows.old folder contains 3 folders within named: Program files, Program files x86 and Windows. To delete stuff from Program files I need "trusted Installers'" permission. To delete Windows folder I need permission from "system".
I have tried to delete as admin and in safe mode and had no luck.
