I appreciate this should be easy, Right mouse click on HDD then use rename
However, I have a SSD "C" drive and and an additional SATA drive with two partitions
They are currently designated
D (G)
F (J)

Using the basic renaming technique I cannot get rid of the brackets
ie (G) and (J) just keep re-appearing whatever I call the partitions
Tried via Computer Management but that doesn`t work

Any ideas ?

Solution
Problem solved
In Computer Management use "Change Drive letters and paths"
"D" now reads D(D) and F(F) which will do ok
Just using the basic right mouse to Rename doesn`t change the bracket letter
Dreamweaver now working OK

What you call "Bracket letter" is the actual drive letter assigned thru Disk Management. What is outside the brackets is the "friendly name" you give to that volume. I'd rather rename them to "System-Win", "Data", "Games" etc rather than single letters which are very easy to misinterpret as drive letters.

My post was intended to help you get rid of drive letters ("bracket letters") at all.
