The majority of renderers are cpu only. What are you using?
the program is Bryce 7. intel core i7 lga2011 3.2 gigs 12 M 6 core/12 threads. Asus intel x79 chipset lga2011 8dimm 4pcle3.0 ATX Samsung 500gb 2.5 Sata lll TLC internal ssd 840 series. Western Digital Green 2TB SATA 6 GB/s 64MB Intelli Power. Kingston 8gb DDR3 memory (4x8GB=32 GB). Windows 7. 64 bit...I thought it would be faster on the rendering with the new card and power but...meh. Thanks for your response!
That's something I haven't seen someone use in a long time. They did drop support for it awhile back and it is only cpu rendering. The new gpu is useless for rendering. You might want to switch to a more modern software but whatever works for you is best.
You did not need a 1kw psu for a 1080 and you lose a lot of efficiency for oversizing. You can run that on a 550w. I'd suggest you post here before spending any money on future upgrades.

ok, thanks for the input, live and learn, I know the program is ancient, like me, lol, but I do have fun with it, except for the waiting. looking into Adobe After Effects for my overkill, lol. Cheers!
Bryce 7? Nowadays everyone uses 3DS Max and Maya, a few others too..
And it is CPU only.
I know, I used to use those but they were too complicated and frustrated the hell outa me. Thanks for your answer.
Nope, just Bryce mostly, I feel like a lost soul here, lol. Thanx.
