repair in xp converted back to sp1

Last week I did a install/repair so I could take care of a few bad files after a memory problem. I was running xp prof. with sp2 and when it was done reloading and repairing ,little to my knowledge it converted back to sp1 because my cd was sp1. I only realized it when pc-cillian was finding vulnerabilities in my security. Also my PC went from booting up in 35 seconds to 3 minutes. Only after updating to sp2 did all this go away. I guess with a xp sp1 disc you will go back to the Sp1 even though you were running sp2. Bruce

the reason it did is because when you do a repair install it deletes ALL the windows files and replases them with new ones. so if your disk issn't SP2 you will have to reinstall it.
