Question Repair or replace the main drive on my computer?

I wake up my computer after 30 minutes of inactivity. My CPU will wake up but sometimes the display doesn't show. I restart the CPU and sometimes I'm instructed to restart the system to repair the drive. Do I need to repair the drive a certain way or do I need to replace it?

first try to use another sata cable from board to drive and use the drive maker software to test it .

You need to figure out why Wake up isn't working right forcing you to restart while the drive is actually being used which is what is causing your problem!

Oh, Maybe make a thread on a Tech forum? <grin>
Perhaps in the Systems forum. Please be sure to list yous systems specs and OS since this could be software or hardware related.
From PC's I've worked on, it's usually a Windows or GPU Issue.
Sorry for the delayed response. I had to go out of town and had no internet access there.

The reason you get that message to repair is because you shut down the CPU improperly. If the display does not show up, your "restart the CPU" is just shutting it down with the power button, is that correct? If you do that, that will cause drive and file system issues.

I apologize for taking so long to respond. Thanks to everyone who responded with a solution to my problem.

I replaced the SATA cable to the hard drive. Same result as before.

Next move is to review the Tech forum for a solution.

CrystalDiskInfo enables you to save the report to a text file. Open the text file in a text editor and then copy and paste it into your next post. Alternatively, upload your screenshot to a file hosting service.

There' s obviously some issue with entering/exiting sleep mode.
I'd just disable sleep mode. Or configure it to go into hibernation instead of sleep.

BTW - drive repair is necessary because windows is restarted without using proper shutdown procedure
(not because there would be some hardware issue with hdd).

Right now, the temporary thing I can do at this point is to set my computer in no-sleep mode.

I tried to change the hibernation settings but to no avail.
