Hi, I've looked and tried the whole day for solutions but here it is: i have a corrupted registry on a windows 7 partition and I have another on working, so i wanted to know if there was a way to restore/fix/repair the registry of the corrupted partition from the partition working. Apparently the system protection wasn't on so I don't have saved files in "regback" and "system32/config".

I'd be glad to give more informations if needed.

Thank you for you help, I'm really in a pinch here.

using different registry from another pc or from another partition wont work, as many setting are different.

does the windows still can boot in the corrupted partition? if yes, try system restore or do a sfc /scannow, if no then try to do windows repair,

using windows repair you will preserve your user accounts, data, programs, and system .

To start repair, insert the Windows 7 DVD and restart your PC. Press any key to boot from the CD and Windows 7 will load the set up files. In the first step select the language and country and then click next.

After that select the option “Repair your Computer”. This will open up the system recovery options. You can either use the recovery tool to fix problems starting Windows or else restore the computer using a system image you have created previously without repairing.

Well if nothing works, just reinstall the windows 7, it easier rather than trying to fix it, since you only need to reinstall driver and software, just remember to check if there any files you need to backup inside the users folder
