i have repaired flat screen monitors before but never a touch screen. i don't mind doing the work if necessary. i am just wondering if its worth it. i cant find a price for replacement screen any where. the screen i was thinking about purchasing is an asus mx27 and will cost about $50 once i get it shipped to me anyone repaired one of these, or something similar?

It is certainly more difficult than just fixing a normal monitor: In addition to replacing the LCD, you will probably need to replace the digitizer. This may be a completely separate part from the LCD, or it may be joined to it. Since touchscreens are still rare, it may be very difficult/expensive to find the necessary replacement parts.

that's what i was afraid of. the monitor works...the picture seems fine, and that's what had me wondering. your right i have been ,casually, trying to find someone who would carry replacement part for a touchscreen and haven't found one yet. i do believe i will be calling asus and seeing what they have say about it. thanks for the post.
