Repairing Disk Error. This may take over an hour.

Hello, I'm not really great with computers, but from my research it seems like I'm having a common windows 8/8.1 error. "Repairing Disk Error. This may take over an hour." And I have absolutely no clue what to do, since I do not understand what most people are saying. So if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated. I am using a Toshiba laptop, not 100% sure what kind since I am not at home right now, but will update when I find out.

Also this all started well I was running my laptop, it started to become slow, so I did what I normally did and turned it off, it started fine but came to an update page, did the updates and restarted and then it started saying things like "start pxe over ipv4" and then would say "no bootable device"
