[SOLVED] Repairing key that popped off possible?

Someone had a Dell Inspiron 17R where a key came off the keyboard. Never having worked much with laptop repairs, I am not sure how this could be fixed. It cannot just be popped back in, placing it on the keyboard it sits lower than all the other keys and does not move.

Tabs or clips may have broken off if it does not fit in again. A lot of them you need to wiggle in from the side, slide under the retaining hooks. Thanks, seems I am missing the plastic things that make the keys work, don't know the name.

Found and bought a new keyboard, should be here later today or tomorrow. Funny part is once again the route this package took, I do not understand how shipping companies work.

Starts in Newark, CA in the San Francisco area.
Goes to Oakland, CA.
Goes back to Newark, CA.
Goes back to Oakland, CA.
Goes to Calistoga, CA, some wine town north of Frisco.
Goes to New York City area then through 2 POs near me.

Odd parts are the back and forth between Newark, CA and Oakland plus the route to Calistoga. I have no clue hos it got from Calistoga to NYC, Calistoga does not even have an airport.
