Question Repeated black screens when playing games ?

Recently a problem began with my PC. Whenever I launch most games, my screen turns black for 2-5 seconds, turns normal for 1 second, then black again, and this repeats. My monitor stays on the whole time. It's almost like my GPU is re-rendering each time but I can't be sure. This doesn't happen in games like Cuphead but its a very apparent issue in more demanding games like Trackmania, making it unplayable.

It doesn't seem like a GPU driver issue but from what I can remember it only began after installing 497.09 around a week ago, but it still pursues persists after going back to 466.77 ?

Specs:
CPU - Ryzen 9 3900X
GPU - RTX 2070 Super
RAM - DDR4 32 GB 3200MHz
PSU - Corsair 850W 80+ Gold
Motherboard - Asus TUF X570
OS - Windows 10 64x
Monitor - ROG PG258Q

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Tried a different hdmi/DP cable?
2. Does sound continue while screen is black?
3. What's your newest pieces of hardware?
