I built a PC last August, it has mostly been working fine. A few months ago it gave a few WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR BSODs, and I found that disabling Intel ReadyBoost solved the issue. A few days ago my PC started repeatedly crashing within a minute of bootup, with either WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR/CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT as the error code.

I am able to boot into the BIOS and it is stable there, with a CPU temp of 40 degrees C. The current BIOS version is 0903, according to ASUS this version supports my CPU.

Specs:
CPU - i6700
Mobo- Asus H170-PRO
RAM- 2X 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2133Hz
PSU- Cooler Master 500W v2
OS - Windows 10

I would greatly appreciate any assistance!

Interesting comment about the bios. You can update bios without booting windows wihich eliminates the crash problem, there are at least two updates that specifically address system stability and that would be a good start. Then as mentioned by bambiboom, run the chipset installation utility again, then get rid of the asus utilities

h4x0r4g3,

> To start:

1. Update the system BIOS
2. Update the motherboard chipset driver
3. Reseat RAM and check data connections to drives.

And t53186's idea to disable any processor-related utilities sounds like a good idea as well.

> Boot again and if the error occurs again run Intel Processor DiagnosticTool and that will help narrow down the problem. Let us know what the Diagnostic Tool reports.

My system crashes within a minute so I believe updating the BIOS is risky and could end up bricking the whole system. I'll try reseating my RAM/SSD/HDD, and if the system is stable enough I'll definitely attempt to disable those utilities.

Is there any diagnostic tools or information I can give from the BIOS? I do have Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool installed but I can't boot the system up long enough for it to finish.

I did manage to run some diagnostic tools back in February when I first experienced a couple of BSODs, the thread can be found here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3329044/whea-uncorrectable-error-machine-check-exception.html
