A few months ago my desktop suddently stopped showing any kind of display. I did not pay much attention to it, but some days later I tried to check what was wrong with it and I just heard a *boom* inside the machine (yes, the PSU was gone)!
So I replaced the PSU and the problem remains, I turn it on and no display at all. Despite removing the RAMs in attempt to hear some beeps I can not hear anything, So my guess is the motherboard is probably gone.
The main thing is I can not find this motherboard anywhere in the UK (at least at a cheap price in order to test it) and I know that if I change to a completely different board I will most probably not be able to boot at all.
So my main question is, is there any list of boards in which I can completely be sure that I can replace mine with them without the risk of not being able to boot/lose my files?
