My old ASUS Sabertooth X79 stopped working and I am looking to get a new motherboard that is compatible with my GEFORCE GTX 670 graphics card. Are there any modern motherboards that I can use or should I get a prebuilt pc and put my old memory in it?

The X79 chipset, which is used in the ASUS Sabertooth X79 motherboard, is an older chipset that is no longer being produced. This means that finding a new motherboard with the same X79 chipset and compatible with the GTX 670 will be difficult.

The two main things I really care about are the price and keeping my data and games. Would it be better to put my hard drives in a new computer?
A new motherboard in this "computer", or those drives in a different computer....

This will almost certainly require a full OS reinstall on the relevant drive.

You can't just change parts at that level and assume it will 'just work'.

I need a decent, low cost computer. I am willing to manually transfer the data from my HDD if I have to. I just need a reasonable resource to find a decent priced pc.

Preferably under $1000 and its mostly internet usage and Minecraft. I also have important files on the old hard drive that I need to get off and put somewhere safe. I don't know if I should look at computers in a store or get one online. I don't know where to look.
