Replace Failing Inspiron 3650 HDD By Cloning

Hello. I am working on my In-law's computer, an Inspiron 3650 that the hard drive is failing in. I finally got everything working again after backing up the data and doing a reset. The Dell utility and the Seagate utility both tell me this drive is failing. So it won't last unless I can get a new HDD in.

I tried Easeus free utility to clone the HDD to another drive. Both times I have received the following error trying to boot with the clone:

Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
Error code: 0xc000000e
(There are no repair options here such as reset, etc)

I have tried cloning with the drive connected to the Dell as a USB drive and I have tried cloning them in another PC. This Dell only has one SATA power connector. I'm not sure if connecting by USB has anything to do with it or not but that's why I have tried it the ways that I have.

I have Acronis but I can't use it. My version won't clone a GPT partition.

Both drives are the same size. I wiped the drive I am trying to clone to and the Western Digital tools tell me the drive is fine.

There are no errors during the cloning process with Easeus.

Should I look for something better than Easeus?
Can you no longer replace a hdd in today's cheap computers like this?

Or, even though everything appears to be working fine is it likely a problem with the source drive failing?

Thanks
