I have a Toshiba P100 and like many people the Nvidia Geforce G0 7900 GS graphics card has failed. Does anyone know of an alternative (and more reliable) graphics card that I can use to replace the Nvidia one?

I got a Dell inspiron with the same GPU and i've looked at the options... (not exactly replacement, but for a more powerful gpu)

Basically the only GPU that you could replace it with is another go 7900 gs or a go 7900 GTX.

a go 7900 gs right now runs about $75 on ebay. while a go 7900 gtx is around $90

replacing it is also a pain in the ass since you literally need to strip it down and even file off some of the casing (to fit the bigger heatsinks in for the go 7900 GTX)

imho, you'd be better off getting a new laptop.......

From looking online looks like your video chipset is solider onto the laptop system board. There a few option you an try. Call toshbia up and see if there a extended warranty on the system board. At one time there was a class action lawsuit with nvidia and laptop vendors do to bad gpu chips. Some vendors paid a flat fee to people with bad systems. Other replaced there systems or gave them free system boArd replacement. I would good your system info and class action.
