Replace master IDE with new IDE

Hi ,I my master Hard drive has failed some of Seatools tests,I have a 3 partition slave drive connected so can I use Norton ghost to clone my master drive (before it fails) to a partition on my slave drive, then install a new Master drive then clone everything from the slave drive to the new master drive so I can keep all my existing settings and to save me re-installing XP ?,if I can how would I do it ?

Download some backup software like macrium reflect or Easeus disk copy. Use the software to create a rescue disk/bootable media. Now image your failing drive to the other drive and verify the image. Shut down the computer and swap in the good drive. Boot from the rescue disk and restore the image to the new drive.
