So this old router 5 to 6 years old is half dead today, Am on the way to Fry's to replace . Any good recommendations? It's just my gaming PC and a few wireless devices like my phone, Chromecast, and various laptops etc when family or friends are over. I live alone so it's really just me most of the time ,my gaming PC and my wireless devices. And when I say my router is half dead it's putting out a Wireless signal , it's receiving Internet but connections 1,2,3 & 4 are not outputting anything. Time to replace.

I'd go for something with as close to 1 watt of transmit power as possible to cover a wide area indoors, and 512 MB of RAM to route efficiently without running out of memory, plus 4 MIMO antennas so that you can reliably reach around 500-700 Mbps on 5 GHz. And with antennas you can upgrade for higher gain if/when necessary.
