-i5 2500k
-4 gb ripjaw corsair 1666 mhz
-hdd 500 gb

so the question is...does it worth to change my 6950 for a new R9 280X?

It'll be a significant upgrade: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-graphics-card-review,review-32899-7.html
If you're using a single 1080 monitor and are happy with lower AA settings the R9 280 is a less expensive option-it's essentially the HD7950 (which I have) and my setup has no problems with even graphically intensive games like FC3 and MetroLL at high/ultra, providing I keep AA low or off.
With games starting to push beyond 2Gb of graphics memory I'd be reluctant to suggest a GTX760 for a system as powerful as yours, even for a single 1080 monitor when the cheaper R9 280/280X has 3Gb installed.
