Hello guys,
my motherboard is dead so I have to buy a new one. I am just wondering if the new one will be the right one, I am afraid about the socket.

Old motherboard is MSI P45/C51 with socket 775 and the new one will be MSI H97 which has socket 1150. Will the processor I have for the moment (Core2 Quad ) will fit from old socket to the new motherboard?

Also, I am wondering, will the wires inside the computer will fit from the old motherboard to the new motherboard, or I will face problem ?

Both motherboards are ATX and both are MSI. I am just wondering if the MSI H97 GAMING 3 Motherboard is the right one to replace MSI P45/C51

Any ideas/suggestions/solutions?

Thank you.

You will need a new processor as well. We have no idea if your "wires", by which I assume you mean power supply, will work or not as we do not know anything about the rest of your specs. Assume no until you can confirm otherwise.

So, in order my Core2Quad processor to work I have to get a motherboard that will be right one, beause MSI H97 needs powerful processors? Correct ?

I am wondering if its worth in 2015 to go buy a motherboard for LGA 775 socket or buy a brand new computer and install inside my new NVidia GEGFORCE GTX 750i

I know this is NOT a graphic's card forum, but in case I will buy a brand new pc, will it has to have the same graphic card inside in order to add my new one ? Or can I have two graphic cards ?

When you said same model what do you mean ? For example DELL XPS 8700 has NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 745 ,mine is NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 750Ti, both are DDR5.

If I get this pc, will I be able to install my card too ?

So, my only solution is to go and buy a new motherboard for LGA 775 which will support DDR3 and replace my old P45/C51. I am wondering if I will be able to find one :)

Thank you for your help.

Hey man, sorry for bothering you again but I have a question. I found a brand new Socket 775 motherboard which has 4 ram dimm. 2 for DDR3, 2 for DDR2.

In my dead mother board I have four DDR3. Can I install them in the new motherboard even in the DDR2 position?

No, the DDR2 sticks are keyed differently. The DDR3 notch is off center. That said, DDR3 is actually quite cheap at the moment. Find out the max RAM for DDR3 on that motherboard and you may be able to score a good deal. Two 4GB sticks can regularly be had for a mere $40.

Post the model and a link to this motherboard if nothing else.
