[SOLVED] Replace On-board wifi with wifi card?

If the on-board wifi on a motherboard fails can I plug in a wifi card and then have that takeover the wifi duties? Or are you screwed and will need to have the Mobo repaired or replaced if the on-board wifi stops working?

Yes of course you can providing there's a slot for it. Which MB is it ? Most have a removable card but in it's own slot.
