My H80 died, and I won't have funds to replace it for about a month and a half, so I put my old Arctic Alpine Pro 7 on my i5 2500K. PC started to boot, then restarted and seems to be stuck in a restart-loop of some sort. Neither of my two screens will come on, although I hear some HDD noises and the fans come on. PC restarts after about 5 or so seconds.

I've tried resetting the BIOS via the handy BIOS reset buttons on the Mobo, tried draining all the power by unplugging and holding the power button for 30 seconds, but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Specs:
i5 2500K @ 4.3 GHz
14 GB G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3
MSI GTX760 2GB OC Gaming Edition
Corsair CX600M PSU

EDIT: Not sure how this got posted in Overclocking, I'm 95% sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the overclock. If a mod could move the thread that would be fantastic.

Solution
Reseating the CPU is the first thing I would do. Okay, I know that this might now change anything what so ever, but have you tried reseasting the RAM? (Most common issue to everything)
I find it highly unlikely. I replaced the H80 because Core Temp was starting to report temps in the 60c area when idling, so I simply turned off the PC and started to fix things. Nothing I did since I originally turned off the computer could have damaged the CPU. I might try to reseat the CPU though, I suppose it could have gotten messed up when I put the new (old) cooler on.

The thing is, my motherboard is designed to be able to boot into BIOS when a CPU isn't installed, so I'm confused as to why the screen isn't even turning on. :/

I guess that could be worth a try, but I haven't touched the RAM since I added a new stick a few weeks ago, and they've been working great. I'm going to go and re-seat everything carefully one at a time, including the RAM and the GPU and see if that solves anything.

So I feel like a complete idiot right now. When I put the back side of my case back on, I pinched the e-sata cable running from the front of the case to the motherboard, causing a short. Unplugged the cable, and it booted right up. I appreciate the help guys, now I have an idea of what to do in the future :)
