Question Replaced cpu now I have no display

I recently replaced my cpu (old cpu phenom ii x2) with an amd fx 6300 my motherboard is an asus m5a97 I updated the bios to 1605 which says it supports the new cpu but when I cut it on I get no display everything is getting power the fans are spinning i reset the cmos finally i put the old cpu back in and it works i checked the new cpu for bends and breaks but couldn't find any can someone pls help

What sort of memory are you using in the system when upgrading to the FX 6300?
