Question Replaced CPU with R5 3600 from 1400 and it is soooo slow

Specs: R5 3600, MSI B450m Gaming Plus, 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX, 970 evo

I replaced my CPU and it is running extremely slow. I mean.. EXTREMELY SLOW.

I have the latest bios for my mobo and I cleared the CMOS and it did not fix it. I honestly don't know much more of what I can do.

PSU looks hella dodgy to be honest, never heard of that brand nor have I heard of a good quality gold rated 600w PSU for only 50 bucks. Could be your issue, that’s my two cents anyways

It was working fine with my overclocked Ryzen 5 1400. And also, the 3600 is running at 4.1 ghz at 1.425v all the time. And when I try to set it to 3.6 ghz and 1.25v in the bios, the cpu starts to get stuck at .5 ghz.

Yes I did. It didn’t do anything.

It’s not even overclocked. I didn’t do anything to it. Everything is on auto.

Can you post a CPU-Z CPU and Bench results, also what power plan are you using?
Have you tried installing windows in another partition to discard any driver issue? I had poor performance in my R5 1500x in game despite being a fresh install with new OS, somehow installing another windows version (19h2) fixed the problem.

Is the motherboard the same as it was with the 1400?

The power supply isn't likely causing this specific problem, but it is in fact pure garbage; Apevia is one of the most notorious sellers of the lowest grade junk you can find.

The motherboard is indeed the same. Everything on the system was the same with the 1400.
