Question Replaced lcd and only backlight lights up?

Hello I hope I can get some help here.

I replaced the screen on a HP "15-1246wm" which came with a "BOE NT156WHM-N12 V8.0" screen with this one (www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XQEIG2Q/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_return_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I'm only getting the backlight to light up without any picture. When connected to an external display I can get a picture, but not on the replacement. The original screen shows a picture when connected as well so I know it's not the cable.

Is it just a faulty dispay, or am I doing something wrong? Driver issue?

Recheck the connection to the display.

Drivers can't be an issue for a laptop. The display that you currently have(replacement unit) does the version match with the one you replaced? Also you might want to bring the seller of the display up to speed, in case it is a faulty display and you need to send it for RMA.
