Hello.

First I replaced my motherboard, CPU and added some RAM. New CPU: AMD FX 8350, mobo: 990FXA-UD5, RAM 2 x 8GM 1600 DDR3.

Now it boots up. Check.
It recognises windows 7 disc. Check.
I click install windows and it needs to recognise the drive, either windows drive or hard drive, to install OS onto.

aaaand it doesn't. They show up on screen but the button to proceed is shaded.

Any solution? Do I need a new hard drive?

Edit* I am using to fix this issue a dodgy laptop with a hyperactive clicker. This thread was submitted 5 times. Hopefully people will only pay attention to one as I can't seem to delete posts.

I DID IT I DID IT! MOM LOOK AT ME I DID IT!!!

Right. I went into BIOS manually selected the disc drive then save and exit.

Then reloaded the disc and it accepted the hard drive.

I'm so happy I could cry.

Hope this helps someone...
