Question Replaced my gpu and now i cant change refresh rate

Hey, so i just replaced my old 1060 6gb with a new 3060ti. Now my refresh rate is stuck at 60hz. For my 1060 i used a DVI cable and i was able to set the settings to 144hz with no problems. I bought a hdmi 2.0 cable to use with the 3060 and now i cant change refresh rate. Any suggestions what might be the problem?

I updated gpu drivers, restarted computer and tried to make a custom resolution in nvidia settings but it gives me black screen for 15sec and returns to 60hz after that.

My screen: ASUS 24" VG248QE 144 Hz

Type on amazon DP 4k and you will find them and you will find the suitable wire to connect to your GPU with. There will be dp with diffrent sizes like 3M 4M 5M 6M and so on!

DP 1.2 does 1080p/1440p @144hz.
DP 1.3/1.4 allow up to 240hz at the same res, and 120hz up to 4k.
