Trying to fix the issue with game play lag and crashing, I replaced my Ryzen 5 1400 with the Ryzen 7 2700X, and now my monitor, keyboard and mouse aren't working. Tried resetting the CMOS and no luck. Is there something wrong with my setup or am I missing something really simple? Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, you will probably need to uplate bios, put the old chip back in and fire up you will ned a usb flash drive. Go to MB website, download latest bios that supports your chip. Then you will need to unzip it. Transfer unzipped file to usb flash drive. Then when booting to bios you will have a bios update tool, the MB should detect the file, hit update and you should be good

did you flash the motherboard BIOS to support the new ryzens?
the b350m does not support ryzen 2xxx out of the box.

if my theory is correct replace the CPU with the 1400, flash the BIOS to the version that supports the new Ryzen chips. replace new CPU and go.

Thanks for your help so far @norcalsc & @R_1. I've installed the old Ryzen 5 to update the bios and on the MSI website where I downloaded the updated version, it said that I should update the chipset driver before updating the bios. Is this correct? I assumed it was and downloaded the latest version but I walked away during that, and now I'm not sure if it's installed or what to do next as it's not prompting me for anything. Then, I went to check the driver version to try to see if it had been installed and it says I have an intel chipset driver ??? I have no idea why it's not listed as AMD and whether I should even mess with the chipset driver or just simply update the bios at this point. Please help! Thanks again.
