So, a friend of mine bought a Green Cell replacement battery for his HP Omen. When starting up the laptop, there's a warning that the battery isn't an original HP battery. In Windows, the power options tray icon shows that the battery is at 7% but not charging. HP Support bloatware says that the battery requires calibration if battery drivers are uninstalled beforehand in Device Manager. If the drivers are available, it reports that the battery is faulty. Also, haven't found anything relevant in the BIOS.
So, is the battery really faulty or do we need to reformat everything, including recovery partitions?

When sourcing replacement batteries, you're advised to source genuine parts to avoid the thing you're experiencing listed above. You should return the battery and get a genuine battery for your laptop corroborating the previous battery's part number. Model for your Omen laptop? An SKU will help us two fold.
