[SOLVED] Replacement cables for corsair PSU

I bought a Corsair RM1000 PSU back in 2014 and need an additional 8 pin EPS12v/ATX cable for my CPU but keep coming across conflicting articles about whether or not the type 4 cables will be compatible or not. Will i need to find a type 3 because of how old it is or will the type 4 work perfectly fine without problems?

You can use type 3 or 4.

The only difference between Type 3 and Type 4 cables is the pinout of the 24-pin ATX cable; all other cables (SATA, PCIe, etc) are the same.
