Hey all,
so my CM Hyper 212 EVO fan croaked after about 5 years, so I replaced it with a cheap case fan that I got as a 4 pack for $12, which obviously isn't going to be that great. It is another CM branded fan, but it's a lot lower in RPM for one, and also my CPU temps have been slightly higher since and at load it doesn't hold up very well.
However, this was not that big of an issue as for the last year or so I have not been doing too many heavy tasks (such as video editing and gaming) due to school, but I just got the new Star Wars game and I was playing it, when my whole desktop crashed. Thinking it's a driver issue, I updated everything, which didn't help. Later, I tried checking HWMonitor, where to my horror I was seeing cores #0 and #1 hitting TJ max (100C), and I immediately shut down the game. I have an i7 4790k, and the other two cores look fairly fine, so I believe it's probably a thermal paste issue too.
I'm going home this weekend so I will definitely be repasting the thermal compound, and I feel like it's time I changed the fan too while I'm in there. What recommendations do you have?
Here are the ones I've narrowed it down to, but if you know of a better valued fan for around the same price or less, feel free to open my eyes.

I also think that I should add that my thermal compound hasn't been replaced in 5 years, and I have transported this desktop back and forth long distances a couple of times, so the cooler MAY have shifted? I'm not sure, as it looks okay when I look at it.
