My PC has been bottlenecked for a while now. I haven't done anything about it since I've mostly been content with playing games that are over four years old like Fallout New Vegas. However, after buying Far Cry 4 and getting a stuttering 48-22 fps mess on low settings along with viewing my CPU and GPU usage, I realized that I need an upgrade. I'd like to know what a good GPU would be to balance out my system.
Depending on what that is, I might need to upgrade the power supply from the 350W one my PC came with. Also of note is that I don't plan on overclocking and I have a fairly generous budget. While I've done my research, I'm still inexperienced at this sort of thing so any help would be much appreciated.

Specs:
Asus M51AD-B08 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-essentio-desktop-12gb-memory-2tb-hard-drive-black/5818029.p?id=1219159703153
CPU: i7-4790S 3.2 GHz
CPU cooler: Not a clue but everthing tends to stay under 60 degrees so I'll assume it's fine
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 1GB
Motherboard: Asus H81M-E
Memory: DDR3 12GB (two 6GB sticks)
Storage: HDD 2TB
Power: AcBel HBA008-ZA1GT 350W

Just as an example, while I was playing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, I turned the settings up to max in order to test my PCs limits. According to Task Manager and CPU-Z, the CPU stayed at 37% with slight raises here and there while the GPU was at a constant 99%. After about twelve minutes of playing, I got a display driver notification and the game crashed. FPS went from up to 130 when idle (wut?) down to 20 during combat. Overall temperature rose from the low 40s to 57 degrees celsius.

Just measured the case myself and it matches up with the best buy specs. Width = 6.9", Depth = 15.7". The card I have is approximately 4.5" x 7" which leaves plenty of room. The GTX 960 is slightly bigger, but has a few centimeters to spare before hitting the side panel.

The 750W would be a tight fit coming up the DVD drive, but my PC has good cable management. As long as the wires don't extend too far, it should be fine. If I do choose such a large power supply, is it going to draw more power than I need or does it regulate that? Like I said, I'm pretty inexperienced.

Not sure if this matters, but I play on a 1920x1080p monitor.
